Filmmaking in FMS stretches the mind and brings work to life, with no limit to the imagination. Through honing the craft in areas like scriptwriting, sound, and post-production, students are taught the art of telling compelling stories, to see their films "Now Showing" in theatres.

Coming to FSV cemented my love for storytelling, and gave me further insight as to what goes on behind the scenes. Most of all, it has provided an outlet to work and learn from passionate and driven people, whom I’ve come to respect and love.

I joined FSV with a focus on editing, but found my passion in cinematography after experiencing the various modules. FSV helped nurture that passion, with the unending amount of projects we get – I think this got me to learn more of filmmaking’s technical aspects.

Documentary Production was a unique experience. Taking on the role of director, I had a great time coming up with the story, managing my crew and directing the talents on set. The module opened my eyes to the immense amount of work required for a film.

Project Background

Leong is over-qualified but under-valued in metropolitan Singapore where everything is a cut throat numbers game. His son James struggles with a speech impairment and is cruelly outcast by his peers. Their relationship is further strained by a bleak financial situation but they soon realise that they aren’t that different after all, and it's going to be them against the world.

Project Background

The Prom Bomb is a film about the transient nature of friendship. Following a group of teenage boys about to perform as a band for their graduation night, we witness the disasters that lead to their lead guitarist passing out, their bassist getting distracted by the dance floor, their drummer threatening to quit, and the frontman's dream girl being stolen by a sexy rival.

Based on embarrassingly true events, The Prom Bomb combines '90s pop-punk with the classic coming-of-age story where boys become men. Sort of.
