Mass Communication

Mass Communication (MCM) is a widely recognised course in Singapore’s media industry, where it equips budding media practitioners with the skills and versatility needed to handle a wide variety of media projects. From journalism and advertising, to radio and video production, MCM offers students access to a ‘media buffet’, presenting them with various hands-on learning opportunities to gain industry experience.

Inspire Design

The school’s sole design-centric capstone project is managed by a team of creatives, united through their eye for visual design. Through the use of design principles and techniques in tutorials, students are given the opportunity to apply what they’ve learnt through conceptualising and creating illustrative publishing materials for real-life clients. They are also equipped with online event planning and website design skills to boost their industry-readiness.

We operate just like a real design agency, engaging with real clients such as The Sandbox and Rogers & Sons, delivering collaterals to suit their needs; from book illustrations and brochures, to website design and social media content. Besides meeting our client's deadlines, we also had weekly lessons on the fundamentals of design and how to use various Adobe software.
Since Covid-19 has been such an unpredictable time for all of us, it was interesting to not just have online lessons with our supervisor but to also entirely communicate with our clients online. This capstone was definitely an enriching experience and overall, it was a great project as I felt everyone put their best foot forward.
